A premiação NME Awards ocorre todo ano, desde 1953, e é realizada pela renomada revista britânica NME (New Musical Express). Artistas como The Smiths, The Stone Roses, David Bowie, John Lennon, Radiohead já levaram prêmios deste evento.
Nesta segunda-feira, foi divulgada a lista dos indicados desse ano. Ed Sheeran e o One Direction aparecem na categoria de "Pior Banda", junto com Muse, que também foi indicado a melhor comunidade de fãs e melhor twitter, Mumford & Sons, Alt-J, que ainda concorre a melhor álbum e melhor banda revelação, e Justin Bieber, que venceu em 2012, o prêmio de vilão do ano e pior álbum.
No ano passado, o grupo One Direction concorria a esta mesma categoria e levou o prêmio. A premiação conta com 22 categorias que se realiza no dia 27 de fevereiro em Londres.
